9 Things To Do In Galesburg

  1. Visit Seminary Street, a lovely, compact, independent shopping district three blocks away.
  2. Eat your way through Galesburg. Try an inside-out brownie from Q's Cafe, a crepe from Landmark Cafe, or a pizza from Baked.
  3. Join us for a theatre production, poetry reading, or sporting event (just a sampling of the things happening every day on campus).
  4. Get a sense of our history -- we're more than just the site of the Lincoln-Douglas Debate -- by exploring the exhibits in Alumni Hall and Old Main.
  5. Take in one of Galesburg's many festivals and other events, like the Great Balloon Race, Chocolate Festival, National Stearman Fly-in, Art in the Park, Cardboard Boat Regatta, or Taste of Galesburg.
  6. Walk the trails, take a paddleboat ride, or just kick back on the beach at Lake Storey, a ten-minute drive from campus.
  7. Drink coffee. Visit Innkeeper's and try their artisan roasted blends (made in house!) or attend an open mic at The Beanhive.
  8. Ask a few questions of the people you meet. We like to talk.
  9. See a comedian, watch a concert, or enjoy the Knox-Galesburg Symphony at the 99-year-old Orpheum Theatre in downtown Galesburg.
