Knox Chicago Scholarships recognize the special relationship between Knox and the City of Big Shoulders. Founded the same year as Knox (1837), Chicago is home to more of our alumni than any other city.

Western Illinois Achievers Scholarship

Students attending high schools in Western Illinois who show strong academic promise and a love for learning are eligible for a scholarship of up to $18,000 per year. Western Illinois Achievers Scholarships recognize the special relationship between Knox College and Western Illinois.

Two students from each high school in Western Illinois will be chosen for the awards. Candidates should have taken challenging courses, achieved at a high level, and contributed to their schools and communities.

Scholarships will be awarded at high schools in the following Western Illinois counties: Fulton, Henderson, Henry, Knox, McDonough, Mercer, Peoria, Rock Island, Stark, Tazewell, Warren, and Woodford.

Glenbrook Trustees Scholarship

Outstanding seniors from Glenbrook North and Glenbrook South High Schools are eligible for scholarships of up to $5,000 per year.

Knox College established these scholarships to recognize the contributions of Glenbrook North and South graduates to the Knox College community.

Colorado Alumni Scholarship

The Colorado Alumni Scholarship is an award of $3,000 per year ($12,000 over four years) to students from the Centennial State. Selection is based on your admission application and an interview with the alumni scholarship committee of the Colorado Knox Club.

To be considered, simply complete your application for admission by January 15. Selected applicants will be invited to interview with alumni in Denver in early March. Scholarship recipients will be notified by the end of March.

John Huston Finley Scholarship (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut)

First-year students from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut are eligible for John Huston Finley Scholarships of up to $3,000 per year ($12,000 over four years). Candidates for these scholarships have taken challenging classes, performed well, and contributed to their schools and communities. Several Finley Scholars are selected each year on the basis of the application for admission.

Alumni of the New York Knox Club created the scholarships in honor of John Huston Finley, an 1887 graduate of Knox and president of the College from 1892 to 1899. Finley was a distinguished educator, humanitarian, and journalist who became editor-in-chief of The New York Times in the 1920s and 1930s.

Colorado Alumni Scholarship recipients are notified in late March. Candidates for all other regional scholarships are notified of their scholarship awards at the time of admission.

General Scholarship Guidelines
Regional scholarships are renewable annually as long as recipients remain in good academic standing. Scholarships must be applied toward the cost of tuition and the combination of Knox scholarships and grants and federal and state grants cannot exceed the cost of tuition. Scholarship recipients often qualify for additional need-based financial assistance, including grants, work-study programs, and loans.
