How much financial aid will I receive?

Your financial aid award is based on your financial need, which is determined by your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the Knox Financial Aid Application (optional). More than 80 percent of new (U.S. first-year) students entering in fall 2021 qualified for financial aid based on need. Here's what those students received:

COST OF ATTENDANCE

The Office of Student Financial Services establishes a standard cost of attendance budget to calculate your estimated educational costs. This represents typical costs for students during the nine-month academic year based on anticipated enrollment, dependency status, and living arrangements (on-campus, off-campus or with parents).

What’s Included

  • Direct costs (items charged by Knox):
    • tuition,
    • fees, and
    • estimated living expenses (on-campus housing and food)
  • Indirect costs (items not paid to Knox), based on estimates for the Galesburg area:
    • books, supplies, course materials, and equipment
    • estimated living expenses (off-campus housing and food),
    • transportation, 
    • misc. personal expenses, and
    • estimated loan fees

Food estimates are based on 21 meals per week. On-campus food plans vary.
