Making College Affordable
A nationally recognized financial aid program funded by incredibly generous alumni and friends makes it possible for students from all backgrounds to attend and afford Knox.
We offer a wide variety of need-based financial aid to help you cover your college tuition and expenses, and we're here to guide you through the financial aid process.
Your financial aid award is based on your financial need, which is determined by your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the Knox Financial Aid Application (optional). More than 80 percent of new (U.S. first-year) students entering in fall 2021 qualified for financial aid based on need. Here's what those students received:
|Total Family Income||Average Award*||Award Range*|
|$0 - $35,999||$61,045||$40,500 - $66,786|
|$36,000 - $71,999||$55,015||$37,500 - $62,478|
|$72,000 - $107,999||$51,585||$35,500 - $60,251|
|$108,000 - $125,000||$46,082||$31,500 - $57,637|
|Over $125,000||$41,139||$30,500 - $51,500|
*Awards include scholarships, grants, federal student loans, and student employment.
The Office of Student Financial Services establishes a standard cost of attendance budget to calculate your estimated educational costs. This represents typical costs for students during the nine-month academic year based on anticipated enrollment, dependency status, and living arrangements (on-campus, off-campus or with parents).
Food estimates are based on 21 meals per week. On-campus food plans vary.
These budgets represent estimated average costs for undergraduate students attending full time during the academic year.
Your actual costs may vary depending on your course load, housing arrangements, course fees, and individual circumstances.
