Students from any college or university may apply. Our courses and calendar are easily adapted for students coming from semester schools. To participate in the program, a student must have completed a full year of intermediate coursework in Spanish. Knox students should complete three 200-level courses before participation, preferably Spanish 201, 230A, and 235. In addition, students should be in good academic standing and present three letters of recommendation (one from your academic advisor, one from a recent Spanish professor, and one from another professor). Beginning in 2016-17, we will consider applications from students with only one 200 level course in Spanish.

The cost is based on Knox tuition, room and board per trimester. Program costs include:

  • Tuition and university fees
  • Room and Board with host family
  • One transcript sent to the home university
  • All educational trips
  • Travel stipend for December and Spring break
  • Spanish cell phone

We offer several options including one team, a combination of two (2) terms (Fall/Winter or Winter/Spring), or a full year:

  • Full year: Early September - early June (9-10 credits)
  • Fall: Early September - Thanksgiving (3-4 credits)
  • Winter: Early January - mid-March (3-4 credits)
  • Spring: Mid-March - early June (3-4 Credits)

Each course taken equals one Knox College credit, which in turn translates into 3.3 semester hours. A full-time load is three (3) courses, although you may taken an additional course for no extra fee.

To apply, complete the application to study abroad.
