Apply with Pre-Health
The Vovis Center assists applicants in understanding the application process, crafting personal statement essays, and requesting letters of recommendation.

Writing Support
Health Professions Advising offers personal statement writing workshops to help students get started on their application essays. Once you complete the workshop and have a draft ready, you can work with a pre-health advisor on initial drafts and then if desired, also a partnered writing coach to help work through further revisions. Both advisors and coaches have extensive experience reading pre-health personal statements and are a great resource.

Standardized Exam Support
Pre-health students will need to complete the required standardized exam for their profession. It is recommended that you complete the prerequisite coursework for your program prior to taking the standardized exam in order to prepare for the content of the exam. For optometry, dentistry, and medicine, these prerequisites can be found in Coursework. Knox students typically take their standardized exam in their senior year or gap years after graduation.
For pre-med students who will complete the MCAT, Knox partners with the Brem Method to offer reduced-cost standardized exam prep courses. The Brem Method provides Knox students with a free 6-class Testing & Study Skills Seminar course designed to help students succeed in college courses and on any standardized exam. Knox students also get a steep discount on the Brem Method’s 6-week comprehensive Brem Method MCAT Prep Course.
