Sarah Rozny

Meet Professor Rozny

Sarah A. Rozny is an educator and researcher whose work has centered on supporting emergent bilingual students and improving educational practices for English language learners. She earned her Doctor of Education (EdD) from Illinois State University in 2019, with her dissertation focusing on teacher dispositions toward emergent bilingual students and how these perceptions influence the teaching strategies educators use.

With a background that includes a Bachelor of Science in elementary education and a Master of Arts in educational administration, Rozny has served in key roles such as an English language learner teacher and an elementary school principal at Gale Elementary School in beautiful Galesburg, IL. Her research explores how exposure to foreign cultures and language-learning experiences contribute to more positive teacher dispositions and more effective, responsive teaching practices.
