Julio Noriega

Burkhardt Distinguished Chair in Modern Languages (Spanish)

what students say

  • What I love most about Professor Julio Noriega is that he has a fervent passion for learning from his students. In the classroom, Julio encourages open discussions and he incorporates student-lead presentations into his curriculum in order to highlight different perspectives, methods, and knowledge. For his class on the culture of the Southern Cone, he even let me pass out notes from a literature class I had taken while studying abroad in Buenos Aires, thinking they were the perfect way to illustrate to students an Argentine point of view on one of the country's most famous authors. I think that Julio really understands and embraces the fact that students at Knox want to be creatively and intellectually challenged, because he approaches teaching, and his own learning, with these values in mind every day.
