"I find the visual arts an opportune place to freely inquire about and understand the world in which we live. It is a place to reflect upon experiences and make intuitive leaps. It is a point of departure as well as a place of return. I look analytically to science and philosophy in order to glean information and inspiration from our attempt to understand, as well as communicate about the natural world. I use this information as the foundation for generative systems that are guided by memory, emotion, and intuition, resulting in work that strives to be both personal and objective. I enjoy exploring these ideas in a variety of media including drawing, painting and print. Moving through media allows me to stay in a mode of continuous questioning, discovery and risk."
