Dream of sharing art with your community?
The Arts in Action Spring course guides students through developing local community partnerships to collaborate with during the summer. For 10 weeks, emerging artists will work with each other and the Galesburg community to learn what it means to apply the arts outside of their personal studios.
The Knox College Arts in Action 2026 community partners include Galesburg Community Art Center, Galesburg Public Library and Hawthorne Inn at Seminary Manor in Galesburg, Illinois.

Weaving community engagement with leadership in the arts.
Arts in action invites students to consider how artistic endeavors and community engagement are linked. Using the research and philosophy of social practice art and community based learning students will develop skills in social engagement, community partner development, and collaborative teaching centered on designing and complementing arts workshops in the Galesburg community.
