The Knox College Class of 1932 entered the workforce during the Great Depression. During the first few years, many of them turned to part-time jobs and the Works Progress Administration (WPA).

Then, in 1939, LIFE Magazine surveyed members of the class and asked them to report on their current situation. They discovered that all 82 respondents were employed, and many were engaged in their planned profession.
