Kansas City PIE Trip Takes Students on a Tour of Alumni Success
The group spent four days, from March 13 to 16, 2024, visiting multiple alumni network locations and learning about their work.
More than 200 grade school students enrolled in 30 courses in the arts, humanities, mathematics and the sciences on the Knox campus in June for Knox College 4 Kids 2014.
Founded at Knox in 1975, the summer academic enrichment program administered by the Knox College educational studies department, draws gifted, talented and high achieving students in grades three through eight from the Galesburg area -- although a few students, staying with relatives in Galesburg, came from Iowa, Chicago and as far away as California.

Faculty for Knox College 4 Kids are drawn from Knox College and local schools. In addition, 12 Knox students were awarded REACH Fellowships as teachers or serve as teaching assistants. Developed by the Knox College Educational Studies Department, Project REACH -- "Recruiting and Enlightening through Access to and Communication with High-need schools" -- receives funding from the United States Department of Education's Teacher Quality Enhancement Program. The grant is administered through the Associated Colleges of Illinois Center for Success in High Need Schools.
