Knox College Alumni Council Seeks Nominations for Alumni Trustee

The Knox College Alumni Council is pleased to announce the opportunity for nominations to an elected term as an Alumni Trustee on the Knox College Board of Trustees.

In its pursuit of excellence, the Board of Trustees endeavors to harness the wealth of talent within the Knox alumni network. Together, the Alumni Council and Board are actively seeking nominations of alumni who are driven, committed, and invested in the future of the College. Nominations of fellow alumni or self-nominations are encouraged for those who are interested in joining the Board to provide invaluable expertise, service, and visionary leadership as Knox navigates the path forward.

This Alumni Trustee term is a four-year term beginning in July 2024. The Alumni Trustee must participate in regular meetings of the Board, which take place three times per year, as well as several committees, task forces, or special meetings that take place throughout the year. Board members serve without compensation. To be eligible to serve as an Alumni Trustee, candidates must be an alumnus of Knox College, with at least two years of completed study. The alumni-elected Trustee can be self-nominated or nominated by others. For more information, visit the Alumni Trustee webpage.

All nominations will be received and compiled by the Office of Advancement, who will then, in collaboration with the Secretary of the College, the Board's Committee on Governance, and the Alumni Council, identify a small slate of candidates from which one candidate will be elected by the Knox alumni body. The results of the election will be announced in spring/summer 2024.

“The Alumni Council recognizes the immense value of alumni input in guiding the trajectory of Knox's future,” says Alumni Council Chair Tom Bazan ’05. “If you or a classmate possess a deep sense of commitment and expertise to actively engage in the development of Knox, and are willing to contribute a unique perspective, service, and leadership on behalf of Knox, please submit a nomination.”

For information on the position or nomination process, please visit the Alumni Trustee webpage. If you have any questions, please reach out to Christina Smith, director of college engagement, at chsmith@knox.edu or 309-341-7648.
