Bucktown Rooftop Party College Guest: Frank McAndrew, Professor of Psychology Marty and Cathy invite you to enjoy an evening with Knox friends on the rooftop of their Bucktown home. Learn about "what makes a person creepy" from Professor Frank McAndrew. He'll share some of the findings from a study he worked on with Sarah Koehnke '12 as part of her senior research, surveying more than 1,300 women and men between the ages of 18 and 77 about physical qualities or lifestyle choices that might be seen as creepy. And their research is getting noticed! It has been presented at national conferences and has been cited in a number of publications, including Smithsonian Magazine, Business Insider, and Washington Post. The creep factor was the trending story on the Today show, caught Conan O'Brien's attention on late night TV, and has been discussed on NPR and ESPN, among many others. Cost is $15 and includes light hors d'oeuvres. Beer, wine, and soft drinks hosted by the Glickman's. Space is limited to 50 guests. Public transportation (a few blocks from the Clybourn Stop on the Metra Line; and about 1/2 mile from the Blue Line), Uber, or carpooling is recommended. RSVP by Friday, July 15, 2016, at www.knoxalumni.org/Rooftop or e-mail alumni@knox.edu. |
