Health Center

Knox College provides an innovative health care program for all students, regardless of whether they purchase supplemental health insurance through the College. Students receive basic care from the on-campus Student Health Center. This Center ensures that all students have access to a medical practitioner for basic health care needs. (Chronic or extended medical conditions are not covered.) Students are not required to use the Student Health Center and may arrange for health care services from other providers at their own expense.

Service at the on-campus Student Health Center is available during business hours while classes are in session. For nights, weekends and during breaks (except summer break), the College contracts with off-campus facilities to provide basic health care.
See What To Do When You Get Sick for more information on where to go and when.

On-Campus coverage effective:
September 7, 2009, through June 4, 2010 (only when classes are in session).

Off-Site coverage effective:
August 17, 2009 through September 6, 2009
November 23, 2009 through January 3, 2010
March 15, 2010 through March 23, 2010
June 5, 2010 - Commencement
No coverage available during Summer break.
Off-Site coverage provided at Galesburg Clinic or Prompt Care (when classes are not in session).

(Off-site coverage does not apply while classes are in session, and there will be $60 charge per office visit except for the dates listed above.)

Student Atheletes
Student-athletes are required to participate in a group accident insurance policy that covers Knox student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics (club/intramural sports and off-season injuries are not included under this policy).

Emergency/Medical Information
This form needs to be completed and signed by ALL students and parents/guardians each year. It is important that the Office of Student Development not only have updated insurance information on file, but also information regarding medical conditions. (Note: Students participating in intercollegiate sports will not be allowed to start practice without this completed form on file.)
