Mission
The Office of Academic Affairs maintains and enhances the quality of the educational programs of the College. 

The Dean’s Office
The Dean of the College is Knox’s chief academic officer. The Dean is responsible for providing leadership for the faculty to articulate the academic mission of the College, for attracting and sustaining outstanding faculty members to Knox, for enriching curricular opportunities both on campus and through off-campus study, for instilling the College’s commitment to diversity in the hiring practices and the curriculum, and for sustaining the faculty’s ability to bring innovation and imagination to the discussion of pedagogical and intellectual issues.

The Associate Dean of the College is responsible for special student academic initiatives, including the academic advising system, the Honor Code, financial support for student independent research, the Ford Fellowship Program, and Knox’s Honors Research Program. The Associate Dean also serves as the Director of the Ronald E. McNair Program.

Reporting to the Dean’s office are the academic department chairs and the Director of Athletics, in addition to an administrative staff responsible for key educational resources of the College, including Seymour Library, Science Library, Music Library, Computing Center & Telecommunications, the Registrar’s Office, and the Center for Global Studies.

Office Hours
The Office of Academic Affairs, located on the first floor of Old Main, oversees the curriculum and the faculty, as well as student research, academic counseling, and off-campus study. Office hours are weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the academic year, and weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. during breaks.
