	Chair Janet M. Koran '71 General Counsel, Retired, YMCA of the USA, Chicago, Illinois. She is highly involved in an initiative to encourage philanthropy among Knox women alumnae and friends alike. Koran graduated from Knox in 1971 and she received her law degree from Northwestern Law School. "Board chair is where my skill set is, and I feel it is the best way to contribute to the College. I plan to talk to as many alumni as I can. If I can help Knox move farther down on charting a course toward financial impregnability ... I will be very happy with my term." 	Vice Chair for Advancement Charles F. Smith '84 Attorney and Partner, Skadden Arps, Chicago, Illinois. Based in Chicago, Smith represents Skadden clients around the world and frequently travels to Europe. Despite his hectic schedule, he returns to the Knox campus at least three times a year, thanks to his position. 	Vice Chair for Education Laurel J. Andrew '86 Director and Treasurer, The Andrew Family Foundation, Orland Park, Illinois. Andrew and her parents, Edward and Edith Andrew of Orland Park, Illinois, and their family members, provided the lead gift for Knox's recently completed E. & L. Andrew Fitness Center. Andrew majored in German at Knox and completed an MBA at the University of Chicago School of Business.

	Vice Chair for Finance Ralph Walter '69 Senior Managing Director, Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, L.P., Los Angeles, California. Walter received his bachelor's degree in Mathematics at Knox, cum laude, with College Honors. He obtained a master's degree in economics from Indiana University and a doctorate in theology from the Saint Alcuin House seminary.

	Vice Chair for Trustees Sandra E. Frum '70 President, Village of Northbrook, Northbrook, Illinois. Frum has been active in Northbrook Civic affairs, an officer for the League of Women Voters of Northbrook, a member of the Advisory Board of Countryside Montessori School, and President of the North Suburban Aquatic Club. In addition to her bachelor's degree from Knox, Frum holds a master's in teaching from Colorado College.

	Secretary Deborah S. DeGraff '80 Professor of Economics, Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine. An expert on the economics of developing nations, she has also studied women's employment in the United States. She's written and lectured extensively about family issues in developing countries. DeGraff earned her bachelor's degree at Knox in economics and business administration, and master's and doctoral degrees in economics at the University of Michigan.

	At-Large Member of Executive Committee Susan A. Blew '75 Vice President, Technology Infrastructure Programs, Kaiser Permanente, Oakland, California. Blew has served as an EVP at Wells Fargo, a CIO at Pacific Bell Information Services, and a member of Keiretsu Forum. Susan speaks of a liberal arts education, "You learn to think and communicate clearly. You learn to tackle problems by looking at the context in which they occur. You learn how to keep learning."

	At-Large Member of Executive Committee Steven P. Luetger '75 Senior Managing Director, Mesirow Financial, Chicago, Illinois. He has chaired the Knox Fund Steering Committee, co-chaired the Class of 1975 Reunion Committee, and served on the Knox College Business Advisory Council. "Steven Luetger has shown extraordinary management and analytical skills in his profession, and a deep support for Knox through his many volunteer activities on campus," said Knox College President Roger Taylor. Luetger earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics at Knox and a master's degree in business administration at the University of Chicago. He received a Knox Service Award in 2006.

	At-Large Member of Executive Committee Richard Riddell '72 Vice President and University Secretary, Duke University, Durham, North Carolina. Riddell has designed lighting for theater productions in the United States and Great Britain, 2 Broadway shows, and the premieres of 3 operas by Philip Glass. Riddell received a Knox College Alumni Achievement Award in 1986. He graduated from Knox, and completed a doctorate in theater at Stanford University in 1978.

	Special Advisor for Media Robert J. Jamieson '62 Journalist, New York, New York. Jamieson began working at ABC in 1990, after 19 years with NBC News. While at ABC he was based in New York and reported for World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, Nightline, and other ABCNEWS programs. Jamieson has reported from all seven continents, won five National News Emmys, and was a member of the ABCNEWS team that won both Alfred I. duPont and George Foster Peabody Awards.

	Douglas L. Bayer '66 Microsoft Corporation, Retired, Bellevue, Washington. Bayer and his wife pledged $1-million to create the Bayer Faculty Chair in Earth Sciences, a new position in Knox's Environmental Studies Department. "Doug credits his experiences at Knox, especially physics professors Wayne Green and Herb Priestley, with teaching him how to think, not what to think," said Robert King, director of major and planned giving at Knox. Bayer received a bachelor's degree in physics at Knox, and went on to earn both his master's degree and doctorate in nuclear physics at Michigan State University.

	Harold D. Bibb '62 Associate Dean of Graduate School and Professor of Zoology, University of Rhode Island, Kingston, Rhode Island. Bibb was a NIH and USPHS Post-doctoral Fellow at the University of Victoria in British Columbia and Brown University. A 1962 graduate of Knox, Bibb earned his master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Iowa.

	Nancy B. Carlin '72 Teacher, Retired. Nancy volunteers for a variety of community organizations. Carlin met her late husband, John, while at Knox, and their daughter, Sarah, followed in their footsteps, entering Knox in fall 2006. In honor of her husband, Carlin established the John D. Carlin '72 Fund, which supports the Center for Career and Pre-Professional Development's efforts to provide students with the opportunity to receive practical career information and advice from alumni, in 2006. Carlin recieved a bachelor's in French from Knox.

	Susan S. Deans '70 Editor & Vice President, Retired, The Daily Camera, Boulder, Colorado. "Sue has been a great mentor to Knox students she helps our students understand how they can contribute to the larger world. As a trustee, she will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the enterprise," explains Knox College President Roger Taylor. She has served Knox in volunteer positions with the Admission, Advancement, and Career Services offices, and on the Alumni Advisory Council for the Knox Magazine. Deans earned a bachelor's degree from Knox in English, and a master's in journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

	Charles R. Gibbs Partner, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, Dallas, Texas. Charles has particular experience in the real estate, retail and textile industries, and his restructuring engagements often involve multijurisdictional and cross-border matters. He received his B.A. from Duke University in 1974 and both his M.B.A. and J.D. in 1978 from Southern Methodist University, where he was lead articles editor of the Southwestern Law Journal. Gibbs lectures frequently on various bankruptcy and creditors rights topics. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association and the Dallas Bar Association.

	Joseph B. Glossberg Senior Managing Director, Gofen & Glossberg, Inc., Chicago, Illinois. Glossberg grew up on Chicago's North Shore and in 1965, he joined his father's investment counseling firm, Gofen & Glossberg, Inc. In 2001, Glossberg established the Joseph B. Glossberg Visiting Israeli Scholar Fund. He serves on the boards of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Jazz Institute of Chicago, and the Merrit School of Music. Glossberg received his bachelor's in 1963 and M.B.A. in 1965 from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. He also created an endowed fund to support the study of music at Penn, which bore the Joseph B. Glossberg Fund. Read more about Joseph Glossberg

	Elzelien "Ellie" Hartog '66 Child advocate and social worker, Ridgefield, Connecticut. Hartog currently serves as Director of Interagency Teams for the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut. Hartog coordinates the Sexual Abuse Response Team. After her graduation from Knox, she earned a master's degree in social work from the University of Chicago. Hartog formed the Connecticut state chapter of the National Children's Alliance and served as its chair for 7 years. She is the co-chair of the Governor's Task Force on Justice for Abused Children/Multidisciplinary Team Evaluation Subcommittee, and has also served as a site reviewer for the National Children's Alliance. Hartog is a member of National Association of Social Workers and has served on the Board of the Connecticut chapter of American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC).

	Gary Jacobson '77 Principal, General Bio Technology, LLC, Indianapolis, Indiana. Jacobson has previously served as Senior Executive for several Chicago based financial institutions. He received a bachelor's degree from Knox, a Certificate of Study in Political Economy from the University of Glasgow, and a master's degree from Marshall University. Read more about Gary Jacobson

	James M. Kilts '70 Founding partner, Centerview Partners, Rye, New York. Kilts was previously the chairman and CEO of the Gillette Company and prior to that the CEO of Nabisco and Kraft. He has been a visiting lecturer and executive-in-residence at the University of Chicago, where he established the James M. Kilts Center for Marketing at the Graduate School of Business. A business graduate of Knox, Kilts earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago.

	Mark Kleine President of Kleine Equipment, Inc., West Central Illinois. Kleine has been in the farm equipment business since 1994 and is a graduate of St. Ambrose University. Kleine also serves on the boards of Wells Fargo Bank and OSF St. Mary's Foundation. Kleine hopes he can help Knox continue to see success in fundraising and building their endowment. "Knox has had so much success in the past few years, with the construction projects on campus, the Hamblin Hall renovation, and the Knosher Bowl renovation, I hope I can help."

	Mrudula (Chickoo) Lal '02 Finance Rotation Program Manager, The Walt Disney Company, Burbank, California. As Knox's current young alumni trustee, Lal looks to the future, "I want to see a culture change at Knox. I want students to think about their careers much earlier than they do now, and I want alumni to think about Knox students when it comes to filling jobs at their companies." 	Robert M. Lindsay, Jr. '73 President, Lindsay Automotive Group, Galesburg, Illinois. "As a trustee, I hope to help prospective students take advantage of the great learning experience that happens at Knox. I hope I can help the Galesburg area see what a valuable asset the college is to our community," says Lindsay. He already has helped the college as it shapes its new business program by serving on the Knox Business Advisory Council, national business leaders who provide a sounding board for the Knox business program.

	Patrick St. Aubyn Lyn '84 Senior Vice President, Director of Client Service, Standish Mellon Asset Management Company, LLC, Boston, Massachussetts. Patrick is a member of the CFA Education Committee for the Boston Security Analysts Society. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Chartered Investment Counselor. Lyn has a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from Knox College, an M.B.A. and a Master of Accounting from Rice University.

	Joe A. Masterson '65 Chair, Chief Executive Officer, The Masterson Company, Inc., Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Masterson has served as Chairman and Trustee for the Glenwood School for Boys, Advisory Council at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee-School of Business, and Corporation Member for the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

	George J. Matkov, Jr. '64 Of Counsel, Ford & Harrison LLP, Chicago, Illinois. He represents companies throughout the United States in complicated labor and industrial relations matters. Matkov's practice is focused on labor contract negotiations, labor arbitration, practice before the National Labor Relations Board, compensation and benefits, OSHA, ERISA, EEO matters and related litigation. Matkov attended Knox and a LL.B. degree from the University of Iowa College of Law.

	Dr. Clarence Parks '92 Internist and Pediatrician, Lifetime Medical Associates and an instructor in pediatrics and internal medicine for Rush Medical College. Dr. Parks is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the National Medicine Pediatrics Association. He is a graduate of Knox and received his medical degree from Rush Medical College. He completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics through Wayne State University at Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Parks has been published in the Pocket Pediatrics guide and the Pediatric Acute Care Handbook.

	Dushan (Duke) Petrovich '74 President, William Wrigley, Jr. Company, Chicago, Illinois. He has served as senior vice president-people, learning and development; vice president-organizational development; vice president-controller and vice president-treasurer. Petrovich has taught in the MBA program at Dominican University and has served on the boards of Montini High School in Chicago and the NEA Foundation for the Improvement of Education in Washington, DC. In addition to a bachelor's degree in economics from Knox, Petrovich earned a master's degree in accounting from Roosevelt University and a certificate from the senior executive program at the University of Michigan. 	John D. Podesta '71 President and CEO, Center for American Progress, Washington, DC. As White House Chief of Staff from 1998-2001, Podesta coordinated the work of cabinet agencies with an emphasis on the development of federal budget and tax policy and was a principal on the National Security Council. Previously he was a senior aide to U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy. Podesta received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Knox College.

	James R. Potter '63 Attorney and Partner, Londrigan Potter & Randle, P.C., Springfield, Illinois. He received a Knox Alumni Achievement Award in 1978, in recognition of his distinguished legal career, and a Knox Service Award in 1989, in appreciation for his volunteer activities on behalf of the College. Potter earned his law degree at the University of Iowa and a master's degree in business administration at the University of Chicago.

	Eugene A. Procknow '76 Managing Director-Federal Government Services, Deloitte & Touche, USA, LLP, Washington, DC. He has served clients in Federal, State and Local, Communications, Health Care and Publishing industries. His professional focus is the integration of technology with business strategy and objectives. Mr. Procknow has served Deloitte in multiple leadership capacities. He received his bachelor's degree from Knox, and his master's degree from the University of Michigan.

	Jim Purlee Owner and Operator, Purlee Farms, Galesburg, IL. He serves on Knox's Business Advisory Council, and has worked for Gunther Construction, taught school, and served as a school principal. In 2002, Purlee Farms earned the Innovation of Agriculture Award, an honor bestowed on just four farms nationwide. Purlee Farms also has earned high marks in the Best Managed Farms Contest sponsored by Farm Progress Companies. Purlee is President of the OSF St. Mary's Hospital Board, and serves on the boards of Wells Fargo Bank and Big River Resources. Purlee earned an associate's degree from Carl Sandburg College, a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Illinois, Springfield, and a master's degree in administration from Western Illinois University, graduating Phi Kappa Phi.

	Diane S. Rosenberg '63 Chair of the Board, Olson Rug Company, Chicago, Illinois. She joined the Knox College Board of Trustees in 1989, and in 2002 became the first woman elected chair of the board. She has served on numerous trustee committees, including advancement, buildings and grounds, development, education, executive, and student affairs. Rosenberg graduated from Knox College with a bachelor's degree in biology and went on to earn a master's in biology at Loyola University of Chicago. In 2006 Knox awarded Rosenberg the honorary degree, Doctor of Humane Letters.

	David A. Schulz '74 Attorney and Partner, Levine Sullivan Koch & Schulz, LLP, New York, New York. He has represented news organizations that include The New York Times, Vanity Fair, the Associated Press, Reuters and United Press International, television networks and other media outlets in cases involving access, Freedom of Information, libel, privacy and copyright.

	Fay Stevenson-Smith, M.D. '64 Sculptor. Obstetrician-Gynecologist, Retired, Wilton, Connecticut. Through a program sponsored by the Associated Colleges of the Midwest Stevenson-Smith was selected to teach for two years at Cuttington College in Liberia, West Africa. "This unique cultural experience connected me to my ethnic past and gave me the opportunity to travel in Europe," she states. More on Fay Stevenson-Smith

	Vernon L.E. Stisser, Jr. '62 Chair, Rand Intercontinental, Inc., Naples, Florida. Stisser received a bachelor's degree from Knox in 1962.

	Roger L. Taylor '63 President of Knox College. He received his bachelor’s degree in English from Knox College in 1963. He served in the United States Navy for three and one-half years, including a year in Viet Nam, before entering law school in 1968. Taylor graduated with honors from Northwestern University School of Law in 1971 and served as an editor of the law review. Taylor retired in 1999 from the law firm of Kirkland & Ellis, where he practiced for 30 years and remains Of Counsel.

	Eric Wilson '84 Sales Director, Chemtrade Logistics, Inc., Overland Park, Kansas. Wilson has served the Knox Alumni Council as chair, vice-chair, and at-large member. He has also served as a class agent and as a member of the Knox Fund Steering Committee.

Life Trustees

	Dorothy Johnson Burkhardt '39 Professor of Modern Languages, Retired, Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana. Richard W. and Dorothy Johnson Burkhardt established an endowment which funds The Burkhardt Lecture, in memory of Mr. Burkhardt's parents, Edgar and Ruth Burkhardt. The Burkhardt Endowment supports biennial public lectures on historical topics by members of the Knox faculty, as well as faculty development activities in the history department.

	Robert W. Castendyck '44 State of Illinois Circuit Judge, Retired, Sterling, Illinois. He was a partner of Ward, Ward, Castendyck, Murray and Pace, helped organize Sauk Valley Community College and was the school's first legal counsel. Following military service, Castendyck completed his bachelor's degree at Knox, then earned a law degree at Northwestern University.

	Jarvis B. Cecil '48 Executive Vice President for Corporate Affairs, Retired, Consolidation Coal Co., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has been an active member of the American Mining Congress, the American Management Association, and the U.S. Council of the International Chamber of Commerce. Cecil received a bachelor's degree from Knox and a master's degree in business administration from Harvard University.

	Patrick F. Graham '62 Vice President, Retired, The Gillette Company, Santa Monica, California. Graham began his career at IBM and later served as Group Vice President of Boston Consulting Group, and was a Co-Founder and Director of Bain & Company, before joining AT Kearney. Graham also holds a master's degree from Stanford University.

	Donald G. Harris '54 President, Retired, Mead Johnson Nutritional Group, Evansville, Indiana. He has served as president of Mead Johnson, Mead Johnson Pharmaceutical Division, and Bristol Laboratories. Harris received an Alumni Achievement Award from Knox in 1981. He holds a bachelor's degree from Knox and a master's degree in business administration from Indiana University.

	Mary Mullins Hinz '58 President, F. Thomas Heller, Inc., Swarthmore, Pennsylvania. Hinz has been a financial analyst with the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, and with Wharton Econometrics Forecasting Associates. She received her bachelor's degree in economics from Knox, and completed coursework and examinations for a doctorate in economics at Washington University.

	Frank J. Kerous, D.D.S. '61 Periodontist, Retired, Antioch, Illinois. He is affiliated with several professional associations, including the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Dental Association. Kerous received his bachelor's degree from Knox, and his D.D.S. degree from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry.

	Dan M. Martin '61 Senior Fellow Emeritus, Conservation International, Arlington, Virginia. Martin has served on numerous distinguished boards and commissions, including the Charles Valentine Riley Memorial Foundation, the National Commission on the Financing of Post-Secondary Education, the Illinois Board of Regents, the Illinois Board of Higher Education, and the Higher Education Colloquium. He has a bachelor's degree from Knox and master's and doctoral degrees from Princeton University.

	William G. Mitchell Vice Chair, Retired, Centel Corporation, Wheaton, Illinois. Mitchell is a member of the Chicago and Illinois Bar associations, and the advisory council of the Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and Northwestern University of Law.

	Walter E. Sampson President and Owner, Retired, Sampson Implement Company, Galesburg, Illinois. He has served as an area-wide board member of St. Mary's Hospital. Sampson received a bachelor's degree in agronomy at the University of Illinois.

	Robert J. Sparks '56 President, Retired, United Federal Savings Bank, Galesburg, Illinois. Sparks has been active in civic and college affairs as a Rotary International "Paul Harris Fellow" designee and former president of the Knox College Alumni Association. He is a past chapter advisor to Phi Delta Theta fraternity at Knox and active in various development efforts at the College.

	Caroline Hamblin Tucker '53 Teacher, Retired, PRIME, Mechanicsville, Virginia. She has served on the Board of Trustees of Saint Paul's College, and the Richmond Community Board, United Virginia Bank. Tucker received her bachelor's degree in biology from Knox, and her master's in zoology from Pennsylvania State University.

	Morton W. Weir '55 Chancellor Emeritus and Professor Emeritus of Psychology, University of Illinois, Urbana, Illinois. He has served in numerous academic and administrative positions at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Weir orignially joined the faculty at Illinois in 1960. Weir received his bachelor's degree at Knox and a doctorate in psychology at the University of Texas.

Honorary Trustees

	Frank S. Cottrell '64 Senior Vice President, Retired, Deere and Company, Moline, Illinois. He is a member of the American and Illinois Bar Associations, the Association of General Counsel, the American Corporate Counsel Association, and the American Society of Corporate Secretaries. Cottrell earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Knox, and a J.D. degree from the University of Chicago School of Law.

	Richard P. Henke '56 and Sophia D. Henke Physician, Retired, Pathology Consultant, Rolling Hills, California. Richard received his bachelor's degree in chemistry at Knox and his M.D. from Stanford University School of Medicine in 1960. Dr. Henke married Sophia Dimitriadis, a graduate of Occidental College and Stanford University, on December 15, 1957, in San Francisco, California. Sophia is a retired psychologist. The Henkes are members of the Ellen Browning Scripps Society recognizing those who have given over a million dollars in culmulative lifetime giving. They endowed the Richard P. and Sophia D. Henke Distinguished Professorship.

	Mary Kent Knight '60 Data Processing Technician, Retired, Northern Trust Company, Stuart, Florida and Lake Forest, Illinois. As a homemaker and community volunteer, Knight served as the first female president of Illinois Elementary District 67 School Board, co-founded the not-for-profit Spirit of 67 Foundation, served on the Board of Directors for several community volunteer organizations and raised two sons. She received a bachelor's degree from Knox, a master's degree in liberal studies from Lake Forest College, and a Ph.D. from Trinity Theological Seminary.
