Jordan Ball Named Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week
Freshman earns save in South Division title-clinching victory over Monmouth

Jordan Ball, a freshman from Cuba, Illinois (Cuba High School), was named the Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday, May 5. The right-hander appeared in three of four games over the weekend and earned the save as Knox clinched the Midwest Conference South Division title with a 9-7 win over Monmouth on Sunday, May 4.

In game one of a doubleheader against Illinois College on Saturday, he threw 6.1 innings with no earned runs allowed, but did not earn a decision in Knox's 11-8 win. Ball came on in relief against Illinois College in Sunday's MWC South playoff game, giving up two hits and an unearned run over 2.2 innings as the Prairie Fire held on for a 10-4 win. The right-handed freshman  closed his week by earning the save in Knox's 9-7 MWC South playoff finals win over Monmouth that clinched the divisional title. Ball picked up the save after giving up two hits and one run in throwing 2.1 innings.

With the two wins on Sunday, Knox won its first MWC South Division title since 1986, and the right to host the MWC Baseball Championship on May 9-10.

Ball has appeared in 12 games, and started nine contests, for Knox this season. He has worked a team-high 56 innings.
