Katie Dura, a senior from Edwards, Illinois (Brimfield High School), was named the Knox College Prairie Fire Performer of the Week on Monday, April 7. Dura was 6-for-11 with five doubles in four games for the Knox softball team last week. The senior catcher also threw out three potential base stealers. Dura picked up five hits in seven at bats in a doubleheader at Rockford College on Saturday. She had two doubles, two RBIs, and two runs scored in the twinbill. Four of her five hits were doubles. Sunday, in two games against Augustana, Dura was 1-for-4 with a walk. She doubled and scored a run. Dura leads the Prairie Fire in most offensive categories this season, including batting average (.412), hits (14), runs (10), RBIs (7), home runs (3) and doubles (6). She has started all 13 games this year. After a doubleheader at Eureka College on Monday, April 7, the Prairie Fire return home to host Monmouth College on Wednesday, April 9. The doubleheader begins at 3:30 p.m. on the Knox Softball Field.
