Knox College and Monmouth College showed their support in raising breast cancer awareness by participating in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) "Think Pink" initiative at the Prairie Fire-Fighting Scots women's basketball game on Wednesday, February 13, in Memorial Gymnasium in Galesburg, Illinois. Members of both schools' women's basketball programs wore pink in support of the initiative. The WBCA set aside the week of February 8-17 as the "Think Pink" initiative. The "Think Pink" initiative is a global, unified effort for the WBCA's nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The Knox and Monmouth coaching staffs got into the act by wearing pink. Pictured, from left to right, are members of the staffs. The Prairie Fire players wore pink sweatbands while the Fighting Scots wore pink shoelaces and pink tie-dye t-shirts. The three officials participated by using pink whistles. Monmouth won the game between the two rivals 72-49. Ashley Yeast led the Fighting Scots with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Andie Allison finished with 11 points and seven rebounds for the Prairie Fire.
