Grant Kluge Named Midwest Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Senior averages 17 points and seven rebounds as Knox picks up two comeback victories

Grant Kluge, a senior from Joliet, Illinois (Reed-Custer High School), was named the Knox College Prairie Fire Performer of the Week on Monday, February 11. The 6-6 senior forward averaged 17.3 points and 7.0 rebounds in three games, and led Knox to a pair of comeback victories over Illinois College and St. Norbert last week. This season, Kluge is averaging 8.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per contest.

Kluge started the week with nine points and eight rebounds in the Prairie Fire's 69-56 win at Illinois College on Tuesday. Knox had trailed by as many as 12 points in the first half. Friday, Knox trailed St. Norbert 53-40 with 9:15 remaining before Kluge scored seven straight points to spark a rally that would lead to a 65-59 Prairie Fire victory. He finished with 20 points and six boards. Kluge finished the week with a game-high 23 points at Ripon on Saturday, but Knox's third straight come-from-behind victory was not in the cards as the team fell to the Red Hawks 81-78.

Kluge, who added five steals and a pair of assists in the three games, was 18-of-34 from the field, 9-of-19 from three-point range and 7-of-8 from the free throw line for the week. He was also named the Knox College Prairie Fire Performer of the Week for his efforts.

The Prairie Fire (7-13 overall, 6-7 Midwest Conference) will look to keep their conference tournament hopes alive Wednesday when they host Monmouth College. The women's game will tip-off the doubleheader at 5:30 p.m. and the men's game will follow at approximately 7:30 p.m.
