Erin Navolio, a sophomore from Hinsdale, Illinois (Hinsdale Central High School), was named the Knox College Prairie Fire Performer of the Week. The 6-1 guard scored a team-high 15 points to go along with seven rebounds, four assists and one blocked shot in Knox's 53-47 win over Eureka Friday night. She was named the Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week earlier in the week. She hit two three-pointers in the game, both coming in the final minutes. After Eureka had taken its first lead of the contest at 42-40, Navolio hit a three-pointer with just over six minutes remaining to put the Prairie Fire back in front. Minutes later, she buried another triple to give Knox a 47-45 lead. With Knox nursing a two-point lead, Navolio scored on a layup to extend the margin to four points with 38 seconds to play. Knox (3-4 overall) has already surpassed its win total from a year ago. Navolio is averaging 8.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists this season.
