Center for Community Service

The Center for Community Service works to meet the needs and interests of the Knox community to engage in volunteer and service projects in Galesburg and the Knox County area. The Center coordinates a wide range of volunteer service and charitable activities, working with students, student organizations, faculty, and staff. The Center is part of the Office of Student Development.

Students at Knox do volunteer work for a variety of reasons, all of which are supported by The Center for Community Service (CCS). Some students use volunteer work to meet people and make connections in the community, helping them achieve social and personal goals. Other students connect their volunteer work to their academic pursuits, both to enhance their educational experience and to to satisfy specific experiential learning requirements of certain coursework.
