September 06 - Knox finished 12th at the Monmouth Fighting Scots Invitational. Knox, playing at rival Monmouth’s home course of Gibson Woods, shot a team score of 410, a 15 stroke improvement from the day before at the Knox Invitational. Sophomore Rachel Talpers once again was the top finisher for Knox, as she shot a 15 for an 87, good enough to finish in a 5 way tie for 11th. Jessica Demory shot a 19 for a round score of 91, good enough to finish in a 7 way tie for 26th.Sophomore Lainey Badger took 7 strokes off her previous day score for a 127 and freshman Brittney Ostlie took 5 strokes off for a 105 on the day. The Knox Women’s Golf will play at the Carthage Invite on September 12th in Bristol Wisconsin.
September 05 - Knox finished 11th at the Knox College invitational in Galesburg, IL. Knox plays its home meets at the Soangetaha Country Club. Sophomore Rachel Talpers was the top finisher for Knox, as she shot a +15 for an 89, good enough to finish in a 3 way tie for 19th. Jessica Demory shot a +18 for a round score of 92, good enough to finish in a 2 way tie for 28th.Sophomore Lainey Badger (134) and freshman Brittney Ostlie (110) made up the rest of the four member team that competed for Knox.
August 30 - Illinois College Lady Blues Invitational Knox finished 8th at the Illinois College Invitational. Knox, playing its first tournament of the 2008-2009 season, shot a team score of 376-360 for a two day total of 736. Jessica Demory led the way for the Prairie Fire golfers, as she shot 87-84- 171, good enough for a 15th place finish. The 15th place finish also meant Demory is the first of what hopes to be many medalists for Knox throughout the 2008 season.Sophomore Rachael Talpers shot 90-87- 177 finishing in a 2 way tie for 24th. Ashton Heath shot a 92-86- 178 to finish in a 3 way tie for 26th.Sophomore Lainey Badger shot a 142-129-271 for Knox, and Brittney Ostile, in her first collegiate golf tournament, shot 107-103- 210 to round out the Prairie Fire women’s golfers.
