The varsity men's soccer program was founded at Knox in 1973 after a long history of club play going back as far as 1908. Since that time, the team has enjoyed considerable success, winning six Southern Division Championships in addition to winning the two Midwest Conference Championships.
Knox men's soccer has entered a new era of commitment. Major additions to the athletic staff and soccer facilities have created a new level of excitement among the players and coaches, and an improved schedule is challenging players to raise their games. Jorge Prats Field was renovated in the summer of 2007.
Since 2000, there have been 12 players recognized as All-Midwest Conference performers. Meanwhile, numerous players have been recognized with Midwest Conference Academic All-Conference honors.
Lucas Robison, a 1994 Knox graduate and former soccer standout, coaches the Prairie Fire men's soccer team. The former men's soccer captain was an All-Midwest Conference performer and team MVP during his senior year.
Knox men's soccer is committed to promoting overall excellence on and off the field. In addition, the players conduct themselves in a manner that is representative of our team principles of competitive sportsmanship and first-rate scholarship.
The goal of the Prairie Fire soccer team is to be considered an annual contender for the Midwest Conference title and to put forth its best possible effort every time it's on the field.
