Jordan Davis and four other poets with Davis' "Million Poems Show" will give a reading and performance at 4 p.m., Friday, October 13, in Studio Theatre, Ford Center for the Fine Arts, Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois. The poets will also read from their own works at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 14, in the Muelder Reading Room, Seymour Library at Knox. Both events are free and open to the public. A poet and literary critic, Davis is the author of a book of poems, "Million Poems Journal" and host of The Million Poems Show, a live poetry talk show at the Bowery Poetry Club in New York City. His blogs, "Equanimity" and "Million Poems," draw thousands of visitors monthly. Davis' poems have been published in Chicago Review, American Letters and Commentary, Boston Review, and Fence and his reviews have appeared in Constant Critic, Publishers Weekly, Paper, and the Village Voice. He has read and performed throughout the United States. Friday's reading/performance features Davis, Karen Anderson, Jasper Bernes, Anne Boyer, and Karl Parker, along with musician Franklin Bruno. The event combines reading, collaboration, audience participation and music. On Saturday, Davis and the poets will read from their own works. The events are sponsored by the Knox College Caxton Club.
