Roberto Haro, professor emeritus at San Francisco State University, will give a talk, "The New Latino Majority: America at a Crossroad," at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, March 30, in the Alumni Room, Old Main, Knox College, Galesburg, Illinois. The lecture is free and open to the public.

The lecture will cover issues facing the Latino community, including demographics, politics and education. Haro is retired from San Francisco State University, where he was professor of ethnic studies. Previously he served as director of the Salinas Center at California State University-Monterey, and taught at San Jose State University, University of California-Berkeley and University of California-Los Angeles.

Founded in 1837, Knox is a national liberal arts college in Galesburg, Illinois, with students from 46 states and 43 nations. Knox's "Old Main" is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.
