Knox boasts one of the most well-respected undergraduate creative writing programs in the nation. For aspiring writers, there's no better college in the country.
Knox's student literary magazine, Catch, is ranked one of the best in the country, winning three national awards in the past two years. And our students have won the prestigious Nick Adams Short Story Contest more times than students from any other college in the contest's history.
Creative writing students have an ability -- unmatched at other colleges of Knox's size -- to meet with publishing authors who come to campus for lectures and class visits. Recent visiting writers have included Stuart Dybek, Aimee Bender, and Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Jorie Graham.
Faculty members in the English department are writers, researchers and poets whose work is published in well-known publications -- and who better to learn from than working writers themselves?
