Senior Challenge

Class of 2014 - Give Now and meet the Challenge!

What is the Senior Challenge?
The Senior Challenge is Knox's Senior Class gift program. The  chairs of the Knox Fund Steering Committee "challenge" the Senior Class to make a significant gift to Knox in honor of their class's achievements. If the Senior Class members meet that challenge, the chair will match the total class gift up to $2,500. Last year, the Class of 2013 earned the Challenge match by raising $11,154!

Congratulations to the Class of 2014, who raised $9,973 for Senior Challenge. Our thanks also to Margaret and Joe Flanagan '85, who sponsored the Donor Challenge, and Dick and Doris Kowalski, who provided a match for our scholarship. Together with these donors, and along with parents of the senior class, we raised over $15,000 for the Class of 2014 Scholarship!

Who makes up the Senior Challenge Committee?
Senior leaders of the class make up the committee. Committee members personally ask 12-15 classmates for a gift or pledge of support in honor of the Senior Class and Knox College.

How much does the Senior Class raise for the class gift?
Recent classes have raised anywhere between $9,000 and $16,500 for the class gift. The Class of 2006 shattered the record with $16,488 in gifts. The Class of 2012 holds the record for the most donors in a Senior Challenge, with 278. The Class of 2003 still holds the all-time participation record with 94% of the class participating in Senior Challenge. This year, 215 donors raised $9,973.

Great! Can I still make my gift to the 2014 Challenge?

Class of 2014 Scholarship in memory of Tundun Lawani '14

The Class of 2014, along with their parents, are supporting an annual scholarship that will be awarded to deserving Knox students to meet the expenses of their education. The "Class of 2014" scholarship will be given to a student who has financial need, as determined by the Office of Financial Aid. (There are no restrictions on who is to receive the scholarship.)

Read more about Tundun and what she meant to her classmates, friends, professors and the Knox Community. The senior class is dedicating this scholarship in Tundun's memory.
