Volleyball (Intramural)
Bonding with your professors will undoubtedly be one of the best parts of college -- especially if you choose a small, residential college like Knox. But what about beating your professors? ...In a friendly game of volleyball, that is.
Knox students get a chance to do just that whenever intramural volleyball teams at Knox get together for a game. If you're interested in serving up some serious (and seriously fun) competition, you can join the student team -- open to anyone on campus -- to take on the "Staff Stars," a group of Knox faculty and staff. When the intramural games get going, anything can happen -- and often does.
"The faculty and staff have a great time, as do the students -- who enjoy hitting balls at us," says Sue Hulett, Professor of Political Science and faculty-team captain. "Everyone is laughing as well as exercising."
It's a 20-plus year tradition that nets its participants not just championship t-shirts but also, a chance to get to know new people or know your professors and fellow students in a new way.
If you're good at volleyball, want some practice, or just enjoy having fun with your professors and peers, intramural volleyball is the sport for you.
