S.P.I.C.E. stands for Success, Performance, Inspiration, Community, and Education. We are a Knox College mentoring club that partners with the Boys and Girls Club of Knox County.
S.P.I.C.E. matches mentors with teens from the Boys and Girls club to introduce them to aspects of higher education. Each week the mentors will introduce their mentees to necessary life skills and facets of college life including athletics, cultural organizations, academics and the arts. This program will culminate in a performance put together by the teens that is open to the Knox-Galesburg community at the end of each academic year.
Our hope is to inspire Galesburg teens to pursue their passions through higher education. By mentoring, we aspire to provide the teens with the self-confidence to achieve their goals. At the same time, we wish to emphasize community and the importance of giving back. We strongly believe in the power of education and the influence of mentors.
