Quiver

Quiver is the name for the collection of online publications of the Knox College English Department in three genres: humor and satire, young adult and children's literature, and speculative fiction (science fiction and fantasy) and feature the work of current Knox College students.
Quiver provides the campus with three publications a year, with one each term:
- Fall -- Diminished Capacity, the humor magazine on campus, gives students the opportunity to share their comedic writing. It was named after a novel by author and screenwriter Sherwood Kiraly, who attended Knox from 1967 to 1971
- Winter -- Wynken, Blynken, & Nod, for young adult or children's literature, was named after the famous poem of the same name by Eugene Field, who attended Knox from 1869 to 1871
- Spring -- The Third Level, dedicated to writing in the genre of fantasy and science fiction, was named after a short story by Jack Finney, author of The Body Snatchers, who graduated from Knox in 1934
Those who submit have the chance of winning prizes for their work. Past prizes included a Tickle Me Freud Doll, gift baskets filled with childhood items, and a Gandalf plushie to go along the genre of each magazine. Each term, the work put into these student-run online magazines is celebrated with a release party for each issue. Accompanying the release parties are readings by students of their published work as well as games and offbeat snacks like candy sushi and Gushers.
