Knox Community Garden

Knox College Community GardenLocated across from the on-campus Eco House, the Knox Community Garden provides a place for students to learn how to garden and appreciate the organic produce and flowers that they grow with their own hands.

If you are interested in maintaining, learning about, and tending the garden, the Knox Community Garden Club is for you.

Goals

Knox Community Garden Fall Festival

In the past, members of the club have hosted October festivals in which all members of campus and the community are invited to harvest and cook an abundance of produce from the garden. Afterward, everyone enjoys the food in an outdoor picnic, sometimes accompanied by a live bluegrass band. In the past, dishes made with garden produce have included:

After the festival, people are able to take home whatever produce and flowers are leftover before the garden needs to be turned over for the winter.

The Knox Community Garden Club meets twice weekly; once to plan and once for garden work, and no experience is necessary. Simply come with a willingness to learn and excitement about gardening.
