Equestrian Club
The Knox College Equestrian Club welcomes everyone, regardless of experience with horses. The goal is to create an environment for every level of experience, anywhere from no previous riding to more advanced levels of horsemanship. The club strives to provide a forum for conversation about horses and their care, as well as allow students to organize, participate in, and observe equine related events such as horseshows.
The Equestrian Club is available to anyone, even if you are more interested in watching horse movies and bonding with your fellow equestrians than actually riding and competing. Advanced riders can be given information on local riding instruction and trainers. Anyone just interested in horses or wanting to learn basic large animal skills and care are more than welcome, too. In addition, we also try to serve the community through equine related programs by volunteering.
Driven by a passion for horses, the Knox College Equestrian Club fosters an atmosphere that promotes the pursuit of excellence in leadership and horsemanship. As a team, our goal is to maintain a program in which the education of Knox students is offered in the study of horses and horsemanship, through the provision of opportunities to lean to ride, care for, and appreciate horses.
The Equestrian Club will sponsor fundraising events to raise money for the club in order to expand and grow. Trips to local barns will be sponsored for students who wish to learn basic horse skills, as well as trips to a local therapeutic riding barn to help with volunteer work.
