Meet the Students of Rep Term 2013

The students of Rep Term 2013 have already put tremendous amounts of work and time into the productions of The Green Bird and The Caucasian Chalk Circle. Below you will find their names, positions, and bios.

 

Emily Antoff

Emily Antoff
(Assistant Director/Serpentina-The Green Bird, Lighting Crew, Scenic Crew) is a sophomore majoring in Theatre with a minor in Education. Emily directed The Marriage Proposal last spring, and was the Assistant Director for At Night's End this past fall. Emily has also directed plays for Playwright's Workshop here at Knox. She would like to thank her family, friends, as well as Alison Meuth, and the entire company for their love and support. Emily is from Winona, MN.

 

 

 

Sam AuchSam Auch 
(Dancing Singing Apple-The Green Bird, Governor's Wife/Aniko-Caucasian Chalk Circle, Publicity Crew Chair, Costume Crew, Sustainability Crew) is a sophomore double majoring in Theatre and Gender and Women's Studies. Memorable credits include Desdemona, a play about a handkerchief (Desdemona), Les Miserables (Eponine), and Under Construction (Ensemble). Sam has also spent time backstage during the summer as an Assistant Stage Manger for Insight Theatre Company. She would like to thank her family for all their support, her friends for their laughter, and her housemates for their love. Sam is from Saint Louis, MO.

 

 

 

John BirdJohn Bird
(Calmon-The Green Bird, Ironshirt-Caucasian Chalk Circle, Sound Crew Chair, Dramaturgy
Crew, Lighting Crew, Scenic Crew, Sustainability Crew) is a sophomore double majoring in Theatre and Environmental Studies. Previous Knox credits include Mary Stuart (Sir Amius Paulet) and 44 Plays for 44 Presidents (Stagehand). He would like to thank the Company for reigniting his love and interest in theatre, as well as Maria, and his family and friends for their support. John is from Frankfort, IL.

 

 

 

Lena BrandisLena Brandis 
(Tartagliona-The Green Bird, Costume Crew Chair for The Green Bird) is a senior double majoring in Secondary Education and Modern Languages. This is her first on-stage role at Knox, or anywhere. Lena works in the bowels of CFA and has contributed costume expertise to Knox productions such as Twelfth Night and Exit the King. She would like to thank her Dad for his constant support and lame jokes. Lena is from Oldenburg, Germany, and calls Lombard, IL her home in the States.

 

 

 

Samuel BrownsonSamuel Brownson
(The Singer-Caucasian Chalk Circle, Music Designer/Director-The Green Bird and Caucasian Chalk Circle) graduated in the spring of 2012 and is currently a Post-Baccalaureate Fellow in the Philosophy and Theater departments. His previous credits include A Lie of the Mind (Music Designer) and Twelfth Night (Music Designer/Director). His music will also be featured in Broken Nose Theatres performance of Nightingale in 2014. Sam would like to thank his family for their support, as well as the patient and hard-working singers and musicians that made this show possible. Samuel is from Holland, MI.

 

 

 

Marina CapizziMarina Capizzi
(Production Manager, Scenic and Videography Co-Designer-The Green Bird and Caucasian Chalk Circle, Lighting Crew, Scenic Crew, Videography Crew, Run Crew for The Green Bird and Caucasian Chalk Circle) is a senior majoring in Theatre with a minor in Studio Art. Memorable credits include Under Construction (Co-Set Designer) and Twelfth Night (Stage Manager). Marina has also worked with professional companies in Portland, including Third Rail Repertory and Pixie Dust Productions. She would like to thank her fellow company members for their hard work and dedication, and her friends for their love and support. Marina is from Portland, OR.

 

 

 

Paula CastanosPaula Castaños
(Pompea/Singing Apple-The Green Bird, Costume Crew, Publicity Crew, Props Crew) is a sophomore intending to major in Theatre and Music with an undecided minor. She has recently appeared in The Vagina Monologues (Narrator). Paula has also been a House Manager for the department. She would like to thank her entire family for their unwavering support and also her high school theatre director for inspiring her. Paula is from Gurnee, IL.

 

 

 

Hannah ComptonHannah Compton
(Puppet Operator-The Green Bird, Make-up Co-Designer-The Green Bird and Caucasian Chalk Circle, Costume Crew Chair for Caucasian Chalk Circle, Make-up Crew) is a junior majoring in Theatre with a minor in German. Her previous credits include This is the Rill Speaking (Mother/ Peggy). Hannah also co-designed the costumes for Under Construction and works as a Teaching Assistant in the costume shop. She would like to thank her professors, her flatmate, Miranda and her mother, Tina. Hannah is from Wheeling, IL. 

 

 

 

Allison DiamondAllison Diamond 
(Assistant Stage Manager-The Green Bird, Ironshirt-Caucasian Chalk Circle, Costume Crew, Make-up Crew, Publicity Crew, Dramaturgy Crew) is a junior majoring in Theatre with a minor in Religious Studies. Her previous credits include Under Construction (Dramaturg) and After Magritte (Thelma), which was performed on Knox's own outdoor performance wagon. Allison has also just recently returned from studying theatre abroad in London. She would like to thank her fellow Stage Management team members working on The Green Bird for being absolutely incredible. Allison is from Cleveland, OH.

 

 

 

Rose DolezalRose Dolezal
(Ninetta-The Green Bird, Costume Crew, Make-up Crew) is a senior double majoring in Art History and Theatre. Her memorable credits include At Night's End (Dalia), The Marriage Proposal (Stepan Stepanovitch), and Twelfth Night (Olivia). Rose also enjoys writing, science fiction, and singing in the Knox College Choir. She would like to thank her brothers, James and Benjamin Dolezal, and her sister
Marcella Dolezal for their wonderful encouragement and constant love. Rose is from Columbia, MO.

 

 

 

Rachel FisherRachel Fisher 
(Maid/Rioba Brother-The Green Bird, Doctor/Lawyer-Caucasian Chalk Circle, Costume Crew, Make-up Crew) is a senior majoring in Creative Writing with minors in Playwriting and French. Her previous credits include Kitty Kitty Kitty (Mrs. Person/Morris). Rachel also enjoys filmmaking. She would like to thank her friends for their encouragement and support. Rachel is from Madison, WI.

 

 

 

Alyssa GillAlyssa Gill 
(Company Manager, Rioba Brother/Treviso-The Green Bird, Adjutant/Old Woman-Caucasian Chalk Circle, Publicity Crew, Sustainability Crew) is a junior majoring in Theatre. Her previous credits include 44 Plays for 44 Presidents (Director) and Childhood: A Devised Show (Co-Director). Alyssa is also involved with Knox Improv Club, S.P.I.C.E., Alpha Sigma Alpha, and Alpha Phi Omega. She would like to thank her housemates, sisters, and brothers for their never ending love and support. Alyssa is from Berkeley, CA.

 

 

 

Bridget GolembiewskiBridget Golembiewski 
(Blockhead-The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Dramaturgy Crew Chair, Costume Crew, Videography Crew, Props Crew, Run-Crew for The Green Bird) is a sophomore majoring in Latin and History. Her previous credits include The Sound of Music (Max Detweiler) and The Tempest (Ferdinand). Bridget has also worked as a dramaturg at Knox for At Night's End. Bridget would like to thank her family back home and her Knox family for all of their support. Bridget is from Chicago, IL.

 

 

 

Kathleen GullionKathleen Gullion 
(Smeraldina-The Green Bird, Props Crew Co-Chair, Costume Crew, Make-up Crew, Dramaturgy Crew) is a sophomore double majoring in Theatre and Psychology. She has recently appeared in 44 Plays for 44 Presidents (Ensemble), A Marriage Proposal (Natalia), and Bug (R.C.). Kathleen has also performed with the Terpsichore Dance Collective. She would like to thank all involved in Rep Term for their hard work. Kathleen is from Sugar Land, TX.

(Instrumental Ensemble-The Green Bird, Assistant Lighting Designer-The Green Bird and Caucasian Chalk Circle, Lighting Crew, Scenic Crew) is a junior majoring in Theatre. Her previous credits include Under Construction (Sound Designer), Twelfth Night (Sound Designer), and Bug (set and lighting). Emily is from London, England.

 

 

 

 

Rebekah HeuselRebekah Heusel 
(Master Electrician, Stage Manager-The Green Bird, Scenic Crew) is a junior with a double major in Theatre and Classics. Previously, Rebekah has worked on Twelfth Night (Assistant Stage Manager) and Mary Stuart (Stage Manager), and has also been involved in the technical aspects of many other shows. She would like to thank her friends and family for supporting her, especially Victor Pilolla for igniting in her a passion for theatre. Rebekah is from Franklin Park, IL.

 

 

 

Emily IoppoloEmily Ioppolo 
(Sound Board Operator-The Green Bird, Stage Manager-Caucasian Chalk Circle, Scenic Crew, Lighting Crew) is a sophomore majoring in Theatre with a minor in Psychology. Her previous credits include At Night's End (Stage Manager) and Under Construction (Assistant Stage Manager). Emily is also involved with the Girl Scouts and enjoys writing letters to pen pals. She would like to thank Liz Picurro, Marina Capizzi, and Ian Zywica for their priceless guidance, and the entire company for their hard work. Emily is from Oak Park, IL.

 

 

 

Mya KahlerMya Kahler
(Mother-The Green Bird, Cook/Lodovica-Caucasian Chalk Circle, Sustainability Crew Chair, Lighting Crew, Scenic Crew) is a junior double majoring in Theatre and Environmental Studies. She has recently appeared in At Night's End (Einat), Cleansed (Grace/Woman), and Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Germaine). Mya also enjoys spending time outside, building set pieces, and laughing. Paul KenneyPaul Kenney 
(Lion/Servant-The Green Bird, Simon-Caucasian Chalk Circle, Lighting Crew, Scenic Crew, Props Crew) is a junior majoring in Theatre with a minor in Creative Writing. Memorable credits include Dog Sees God (CB). Paul is also involved with the scene shop, where he has been working for the past 3 years. Miranda LoeberMiranda Loeber  
(Instrumental Ensemble-The Green Bird, Costume Co-Designer-Caucasian Chalk Circle, Costume Crew, Dramaturgy Crew) is a junior majoring in Theatre with a minor in Chinese. Her previous credits include This Is the Rill Speaking (Costume Designer) and Pirates of Penzance (Assistant Costume Designer). Miranda also partially wrote and directed Mnemosyne, a collection of three student-written
plays. She would like to thank Hannah for being a wonderful crew chair, Margo for being a constant inspiration and role model, and her family for their boundless support. Miranda is from Scottsdale, AZ.

 

 

 

Chloe LuetkemeyerChloë Luetkemeyer 
(The Green Bird/Co-Choreographer-The Green Bird, Make-up Crew, Lighting Crew, Scenic Crew) is a junior majoring in Theatre with a double minor in Creative Writing and Art History. She has recently appeared in Under Construction (Ensemble), The Vagina Monologues (The Woman Who Loved to Make Vaginas Happy), and White Christmas (Judy Haynes). She would like to thank the company for being

Paul Lurenz IIIPaul Lurenz III 
(Costume Shop Foreman, Make-up Co-Designer-The Green Bird and Caucasian Chalk Circle) graduated in the spring of 2012 with a major in Modern Languages and a minor in Theatre: Design & Technology and is currently a Post-Baccalaureate Fellow. His recent design credits include At Night's End (Costume Co-Design) and Cleansed (Costume Design). Paul is also the president of the Knox Fencing Club. He would like to thank Margo Shively, Todd Heidt, and Mat Matsuda for fostering his growth into a budding designer and linguist. Paul is from Franklin, WI.

 

 

 

Franzesca MayerFranzesca Mayer 
(Costume Designer-The Green Bird, Shauva/Maro-Caucasian Chalk Circle, Costume Crew) is a senior majoring in Theatre with a minor in German. Memorable costume design credits include Desdemona: A Play About A Handkerchief (Knox College Studio Theatre), Pirates of Penzance (Prairie Players Civic Theatre) and Twelfth Night (Knox College Main Stage). Franzesca is also the president of Sigma Alpha
Iota, International Women's Music Fraternity, Psi chapter. She would like to thank her family for loving her no matter what. Franzesca is from Palo Alto, CA.

 

 

 

Jesse MitchellJesse Mitchell 
(Assistant Stage Manager-The Green Bird, Publicity Crew, Lighting Crew, Scenic Crew) is a junior majoring in Theatre with a minor in Political Science. His previous credits include Desdemona: A Play About a Handkerchief (Stage Manager,) Under Construction (Assistant Stage Manager), Bug (Assistant Stage Manager), and Phaedra's Love (Stage Manager). Jesse is also involved with the Student Health

Jmaw B. MosesJmaw B. Moses
(Brighella-The Green Bird, Yussup/Prince-Caucasian Chalk Circle, Costume Crew, Make-up Crew) is a junior majoring in Theatre with a minor in Dance. Memorable credits include Confessions in Living Color(ed) (Stage Manager), Ragtime (Coalhouse Walker Jr.), Peter Pan (Smee), and RENT (Angel). Jmaw has also performed in and choreographed for the Terpsichore Dance Collective, and is a member of the Knox College Choir as a bass. Jmaw is from Clinton, MD.

(Maid-The Green Bird, Costume Crew, Props Crew) is a sophomore double majoring in Theatre and Creative Writing. Her previous credits include One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (Chronic). Crew) is a junior double majoring in Creative Writing and Theatre. Memorable credits include Under Construction (Ensemble), Twelfth Night (Antonio), Mary Stuart (Mortimer), and Phaedra's Love (Hippolytus). Neil also recently directed I Am Not Batman, and intends to direct more in the near future. Neil would like to thank his mom, dad, and three sisters for their love and support. Jonathan enjoys spending time reading, as well as writing fiction and short plays. Jacob SchneiderJacob Schneider 
(Master Carpenter, Green Bird Prince/Rioba Brother-The Green Bird, Sound Board Operator-Caucasian Chalk Circle, Lighting Crew, Scenic Crew, Sustainability Crew) is a junior majoring in Theatre with a minor in Physics. He has recently appeared in At Night's End (Avner). Jacob also enjoys video games. Steve SelwaSteve Selwa 
(Tartaglia-The Green Bird, Corporal/Mother-in-Law/The Tallest Boy-Caucasian Chalk Circle, Lighting Crew, Scenic Crew) is a senior double majoring in Theatre and Creative Writing. His previous credits include At Night's End (Gadi), Twelfth Night (Curio) and Woyzeck (Doctor). Steve is also an active member in Knox's Sigma Chi Lambda Alpha chapter and has appeared in Terpsichore, Men's Ensemble, and Improv Club. Her previous Knox credits include This is the Rill Speaking (Director) and Twelfth Night (Fabia). Outside of Knox, memorable credits include The Music Man (Mrs. Paroo) and The Diary of Anne Frank (Anne Frank). Avery WigglesworthAvery Wigglesworth
(Co-Choreographer/Movement Coach/Singing Apple-The Green Bird, Grusha-Caucasian Chalk Circle, Make-up Crew, Publicity Crew, Lighting Crew, Scenic Crew) is a senior majoring in Theatre with a minor in Creative Writing. Memorable onstage credits include Under Construction (Ensemble), Twelfth Night (Viola), and Big Love (Olympia). Avery has also directed several productions here at Knox, including Desdemona, Phaedra's Love, and The Vagina Monologues, which raised over $300 for Galesburg's own Safe Harbor. She would like to thank her housemates for their constant love and support. Avery is from Lexington, KY.
