What about Knox stood out during your college search?
I wanted a small campus in an area of the country where I've never been. Once I started receiving information from Knox, I fell in love and knew that this was the place I wanted to be.

How would you describe academic life?
Stimulating, challenging, and eye-opening. I've learned so much more than I ever thought I could.

Which classes/professors have been your favorites?
Any of the numerous political science classes I've taken can easily count as my favorite. My favorite professors would have to be Sue Hulett and Karen Kampwirth; they teach with a passion and fervor that is infectious.

What campus jobs have you had while at Knox?
I currently am one of the student workers in the Business Office. I've learned so much at my time there and have bonded so much with the women that work in that office. I like to consider them my "moms away from home."

What is your favorite place on campus? Off campus?
On campus: The Gizmo, the Taylor Student Lounge, and the couch in front of Founders. Off campus: The Beanhive and Acapulco, a local Mexican restaurant.

How would you describe campus life?
There is always something to do on campus, always something going on. Finding something to do and keeping busy are never a problem.

What activities do you participate in on campus? 
KolorWorx, Student Senate, and Terpsichore Dance Collective. Helping start and being a part of KolorWorx merged two things that I love -- color guard and Knox -- which is something Knox didn't have my first year.

What are your interests and hobbies?
I love practicing and performing with the girls from KolorWorx. I fell in love with guard in high school and knew that I wanted to continue that in college. Luckily I found a group of girls who have the same interests that I do, and we formed a club to keep doing what we love.

What surprised you about Knox?
I never thought I could love a place and grow so much as person as I have here.

What's the most important thing you've learned at Knox outside the classroom?
The most important thing I've learned outside the classroom is that I've grown up and have grown as person more than I've realized. I was 17 when I got to Knox and didn't feel ready to be on my own. Now as a senior I feel ready and prepared for life after Knox. 

Any advice for high school students on their college search?
Find a place that speaks to you. Even if it's on the other side of the country the adventure is worth it.
