WHAT IS THE KNOX COLLEGE PARENTS ASSOCIATION?

Parents of Knox students are valued members of the Knox Community, and it is important that they have the opportunity to meaningfully support the College. After receiving frequent inquiries from the parents of current students regarding ways for them to become more involved with Knox, the College established the Knox College Parents Association. All parents of Knox students become members of the Parents Association at the time of their student's enrollment.

Drop-in sessions and/or information tables for the Parents Association are held at Admitted Student Days, New Student Orientation, and Family and Friends Weekend. Current Knox parents are given opportunities to meet other Knox parents and learn about the various options for involvement. HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

There are a number of ways parents can help the College, including the following:

• Orientation: Assist with the family networking and resource session held each year during new student/parent orientation, visit with new parents.
• Family & Friends Weekend: Help plan Family & Friends Weekend by recommending topics, programs, and speakers that would be of interest to parents.
• Student Recruiting: Identify potential students and serve as a resource for parents of prospective students; assist Admissions with open houses in your geographical area.
• Mentoring: Serve as a resource to current students and alumni in areas of shared interest including career information, internships, and community service.
• Fundraising: Assist with parent and special gift fundraising initiatives. We would like to have some parents who are directly involved with ideas and strategies for fundraising for the Knox Fund.
