Outside Scholarships

Don't overlook the possibility of scholarships from civic and private organizations and foundations based on your parents' employment, ethnic group or church affiliation, your own academic interests or an outstanding academic record. Check with your high school counseling office or use the Helpful Links page on the left to search the internet.

While outside scholarships must be included in a student's financial aid package, Knox allows you to benefit as much as possible from any scholarship you receive from a private source. Generally, outside scholarships add to the scholarship/grant portion of your financial aid package and reduce your family contribution—the amount you and your family have to pay. Only if it's necessary to meet federal regulations will we reduce the work and loan portions of your financial aid award.
