Knox Named One of "10 Colleges You Should Know About"According to rankings published on the Huffington Post Web site, Knox is one of the "Top 10 Best-Kept Secrets" in American higher education. Listed as one of the "10 Colleges You Should Know About," Knox "flies under the radar," provides a "superior educational experience," and where alumni satisfaction is high. The Huffingon Post listing was compiled at Unigo.com, which evaluated the survey data from more than 30,000 students. Unigo said Knox and the other schools in the top 10 are "institutions that never get the fanfare, but still provide a superior educational experience." |

Conservative Environmentalist Dan Dagget Speaks at KnoxDan Dagget, founder and president of EcoResults!, gave a talk at Knox, "From Ecoradical to Conservative Environmentalist." His presentation was part of the EquiKnox series of events, sponsored by the College's Presidential Task Force on Sustainability. Daggit was designated one of the 100 top grass roots activists by the Sierra Club in 1992, and has made great strides in environmental conservation efforts. He writes, "the principles of conservatism—individual initiative, personal accountability, the free market, and rewards for results—are more effective at achieving environmental goals… than the liberal alternative—regulation and protection."Learn more about the steps Daggit has taken for the environment, Knox's environmental studies program, and Green Oaks, the College's Biological Field Station. |

The internationally acclaimed theatre company, DAH Teatar of Serbia, is completing a four-day residency at Knox, including two performances of “Crossing the Line.” The performance is based on women’s stories of violence and loss, courage and endurance during the civil war in former Yoguslavia. While at Knox, members of DAH Teatar also will conduct workshops, meet with students, and participate in several classes. "The work of DAH Teatar ties into the conversations that we have been having at Knox — that if you're personally insensitive toward violence and violence against women, you leave yourself vulnerable at the global level,” said theatre professor Elizabeth Carlin-Metz.
