Knox Experience Helps Student Prepare for Study in Ghana

Even before traveling to Ghana with a group of Knox College students, faculty, and alumni for a two-week intensive cultural immersion course, Knox junior Martina Pezzino’s Knox experience helped her prepare for a different culture. "I'm so glad I was at Knox before I went to Ghana because I was able to connect with multiple students on campus who are from Ghana and gave me some great insight into what to expect," she said. "The diversity of Knox was definitely an asset in preparing me for a vastly different culture." Read more about Pezzino's experience.

What’s the Best Way to Ask for Help? Honors Research Answers Question

What's the best way to ask for help? Can you prevent others from cheating? These are two of the questions Knox senior Amelia Goranson is exploring for her Honors project on how language used toward others can shape behavior. "This research is not typical for undergraduate students, as Amelia is essentially doing the equivalent of a master's degree thesis," explains Frank McAndrew, department of psychology chair. "This kind of opportunity is not unique to Knox, but it is certainly not available at most schools.” Read more about Goranson's project.
