Let Us Help With Your Graduation Wish List

Students enjoy a break in the residence hall.As high school graduation quickly approaches, you're probably getting questions from grandparents, aunts and uncles, siblings, and even your parents, about what things you’d like to help celebrate this milestone and prepare you for living at college.

We can help with that wish list. Take a look at our recommended Packing List, which includes a list of items -- many that you probably don't have yet -- that you'll need this fall, including:

Extra long twin sheets
Quarters for laundry
Hamper or laundry bag
Rain boots

The packing list also includes items what every room is furnished with, as well as a list of items that are best left at home.

Students on computers in the residence hallOne thing that tops many lists is a new computer. Before buying, make sure the computer you want meets the minimum requirements to connect to the Knox Network. Check out the computer hardware requirements and wireless hardware requirements to be sure your new machine will work on campus. If you already have a computer you plan to bring to campus, check your system remotely to see if it meets requirements for connecting to the network before you bring it to campus.

What to bring to campus and computer hardware requirements are just a few of the things you will learn about at the One Community page for new students. You will also see room and suite measurements, find financial aid information, and see sample schedules of orientation events. We will be adding information to the site regularly throughout the summer, so be sure to check back often.
