The TRIO Achievement Program is funded to serve 185 students (new and continuing). Students who are interested in participating must complete the online TRIO application and may be asked to provide additional documentation to verify their eligibility for TRIO.
Each year, approximately 45-65 new participants are selected to join the program. Recruitment and selection of new TRIO participants occur during the summer prior to your first term at Knox College (Early Admission Period) and throughout New Student Orientation (Priority Admission Period).
Applications for participation from both new and continuing Knox students are accepted and evaluated throughout the academic year; however, when the program reaches capacity, new applicants will be placed on a waiting list. Students may be admitted from the waiting list if openings become available following participation reviews at the end of each term.
The TRIO application process consists of two parts: (1) completing the online application and (2) verification of eligibility. Students invited to apply during the Early Application Period (June-July) will have a link to the TRIO application on their new student portals. Once the Early Application Period has closed (July), applications can be accessed and submitted throughout the academic year via the link in PART 1 below. All applicants must complete the TRIO Eligibility Verification Form in PART 2 before final selection decisions can be made.
