Explore & Engage Galesburg is a dynamic engagement opportunity designed for new and returning students to connect with faculty, staff, and local community members to celebrate Galesburg!

We Engage through our volunteer service to our community partners such as FISH Food Pantry, Discovery Depot, Galesburg Civic Art Center, The Orpheum Theatre, Knox Sustainability, and the Purple Hanger Re-Sale Shoppe.

We Explore through a variety of short tours including a Bike Tour of downtown Galesburg, a special trip to Green Oaks (Knox's biological field station) and experiencing local attractions on the Arts & Culture and Local Foods Tours.

Fall Term Volunteer Opportunties

A variety of term long volunteer placements are available to students. Our community partners for this term include the Knox County YMCA, the Reading Buddies program at local elementary schools, Knox Prairie Community Kitchen, the public library, Prairie Players Civic Theater, and Food Recovery Network. Look out for the Fall Term Menu for links  to Sign Up Genius.

*volunteer placements with kids will require this DCFS certification- get a head start on fall paperwork and do it now!
