Old Main seen through the leaves of a tree.

Welcome to the Knox College Campus Safety website. This site has been developed in an effort to provide students, faculty, staff, as well as all of those who may visit the Knox campus, an opportunity to learn about the operation and resources provided by the Campus Safety Department.

The department's site has been divided into four parts. The first portion has been designed to provide an overview of the operation of the department and resources available to the campus community. The second section has been developed to address general emergency procedures and notifications. That section also provides access to the Campus Alert sign-up, which permits all members of the Knox community to receive crime alerts and emergency notifications via cellular phones and e-mail. The remaining two sections have been devoted to Clery related material, including the Annual Campus Safety and Security Survey.

The department seeks to provide the best in service and safety for persons and property on the Knox campus. Those efforts remain possible as a result of the dedication and willingness to serve, demonstrated by each of the officers on the department. It is sincerely believed that the level of service provided would not be possible without the support and cooperation of the Knox students, the Knox faculty, and the staff within the other departments on campus.

We welcome any questions regarding the website and look forward to any suggestions regarding, not only the website, but also the daily operation of the department. We hope that the site will be found to be both helpful and informative.

Sincerely,

John H. Schlaf
Director of Campus Safety
