International Student Orientation eases your transition to living and studying in the United States. This program is provided as a supplement to New Student Orientation, and participation in both orientation programs is required for F-1 visa students. U.S. students from abroad are welcome to participate for an additional fee upon making reservations via e-mail to the Office of Student Development.
New international students are asked to arrive on campus no earlier than noon on Wednesday, August 31. You will have a chance to rest and participate in optional activities on August 31. You are not obligated to be here until the morning of September 1.
International Student Orientation will begin at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, September 1. When you get to campus on August 31, please locate the International House (I-House) and come right in. Current students will be there to receive you and help you move in. Use the campus map (PDF) to find your way, or ask anyone you see for directions. If your parents are able to come with you for orientation, they are welcome to join us. Please make lodging arrangements in Galesburg for your family as soon as possible.
