Frequently Asked (Institutional Research) Questions
Common Data Set
The Common Data Set (CDS) is a set of standards and definitions of data items rather than a survey instrument or set of data represented in a database. Data include enrollment, admission and graduation information. Most colleges and universities complete the CDS and make the information publicly available.
IPEDS Data Feedback Report
The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) is the core postsecondary education data collection program for the National Center for Educational Statistics (NCES). It is a single, comprehensive system designed to encompass all institutions and educational organizations whose primary purpose is to provide postsecondary education. For additional information see the IPEDS website. The IPEDS Data Feedback Report is intended to provide institutions a context for examining the data they submitted to the IPEDS.
