Remote Computer Connections
Knox College users can access their office computers from off-campus locations using secure remote connections. This will allow you to access the files on your computer and other network services as if you were working at your office.
If your computer is not set up to accept remote connections, you can access many network servers and services via a remote VPN connection.
Preparing Your Office Computer
You will need to configure your office computer to allow remote connections, and leave it on when you wish to be able to connect from another location.

Your computer is now ready to accept remote connections. Remember to leave the computer turned on if you plan on connecting. You can lock the computer for privacy by using Control-Alt-Delete and Lock Computer, or Log out.

Log in to your computer
Once connection to the network, click on Terminal Servers in the left column of the main VPN screen (screenshow below). In the top bar where you see Address rdp:// you will type in the name of the computer you wish to connect to and click Browse.

If your office computer is properly set up the connection will be established and you will be prompted to log in using your standard username and password. Once logged in you will be able to use your office computer as you would if you were on campus. This includes printing to network printers and accessing CARS.
When finished you will need to Disconnect or Log off the campus system.
