For reasons of safety and security, residence halls are locked 24 hours a day, and students are encouraged to keep their rooms locked at all times.
The Office of Campus Safety issues keys to rooms and residence halls at the beginning of the academic year, or when a new student arrives on campus.
Students who lose their keys should request a temporary replacement at the Administrative Service Center. If the keys are not found, the lock will be changed. The temporary keys will be returned and new keys will be issued. A fee of $25 per key will be issued for all lost/non-returned keys and will be charged to the student's account. A fee of $50 will be issued for all lock changes.
At the end of the school year, or at the time of departure, keys must be returned to the Administrative Services Center. A $25 charge will be added to the student account for any keys returned after a designated date (at the end of the year it is the Friday after Commencement).
