General Interests
"My current research focuses on the intersections of literature and journalism in contemporary Spain. Specifically, I look at how women gained a public voice and established themselves as political subjects through journalism during Spain's transition to democracy in the mid-1970s to the early 1980s. In my teaching, I strive to incorporate authentic contemporary texts and media into both language and literature courses. I feel that exposure to these varied texts will help students learn the nuances of the Spanish language as well as give them a deeper understanding of the various cultures that comprise the Spanish-speaking world."
