Knox College Elects Four New Trustees

The Knox College Board of Trustees elected four new members at its meeting in June. Elected general trustees were Thomas V. Reilly, Isabelle Czarkowki Goossen, and Keith Maskus. Elected as an alumni trustee was John Cusimano.

Thomas V. Reilly '68
Thomas ReillyThomas V. Reilly received his bachelor's degree in economics from Knox in 1968 and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1971. He has worked as a venture capital investment officer, investment analyst, and portfolio manager, most recently retired from Putnam Investments as the Chief Investment Officer of the Value Equity Group. He previously served as alumni trustee of Knox College from 1997 to 2001, and as a general trustee from 2001 to 2009.

Isabelle Czarkowki Goossen '73
Isabelle GoossenIsabelle Czarkowki Goossen received her B.A. from Knox in political science and Spanish in 1973, an M.A. in Latin American studies from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1974, and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1978. She has served in several financial roles for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association since 2001 and is currently the organization's vice president for finance and ​chief financial officer​. She has held a variety of leadership positions in business, including member of the board and chair of the corporate governance committee of Columbian Mutual Life Insurance Company. She is also a board member and serves on the audit, compensation, and technology committees of Methode Electronics, Inc.

Keith Maskus '76
Keith MaskusKeith Maskus is Arts and Sciences Professor of Distinction and professor of economics, University of Colorado, Boulder. He received his B.A. in mathematics and economics from Knox College ​in 1976 ​and his M.A. ​in 1979 ​and Ph.D. in 1981​ in economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. A member of the faculty at Colorado since 1981, he also has been a lead economist at the World Bank, a research fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, a visiting research scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, a fellow at the Kiel Institute for World Economics, and an adjunct professor at the University of Adelaide in South Australia. He has served as president of the International Economics and Finance Society and a member of the board of directors of the Chinese Economists Society.

John Cusimano '13
JJohn Cusimanoohn Cusimano is a project manager at Epic, in Madison, Wisconsin. He received his B.A., summa cum laude, in music and biochemistry from Knox College in 2013. While at Knox, he was selected as a Student Laureate of the Lincoln Academy of Illinois in recognition of excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities. He also served as treasurer of the Chemistry Club, president of Mortar Board, and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society.
