Knox College is one of "America's Best Colleges," ranking in the top 100 among all colleges and universities, according to Forbes magazine's most recent annual listing of the 650 best undergraduate institutions.
Knox, which is 79th on the overall list of best colleges and universities, also is in the Top 20 of schools that Forbes has identified as "Best in Midwest."
Forbes compiles its college rankings by considering five general categories: student satisfaction, post-graduate success, student debt, four-year graduation rate, and nationally competitive student awards (such as the Fulbright U.S. Student Program). The magazine assigns weights to each of the categories, with the greatest emphasis placed on student satisfaction and post-graduate success.
Forbes said the rankings "provide a good assessment of the quality of the educational experiences at over 600 institutions."
Forbes magazine introduced its "America's Best Colleges" list in 2008, and Knox has appeared on the list every year.
